What is Botox?

There is so much talk about the Botox cosmetic purpose. But what is Botox really? Botox is nothing but botulinum toxin type A, produced from human blood plasma. Botox injections are given into muscles with doses spaced atleast 3 months apart.

Botox Procedure

In a Botox procedure, Botulinum injections are commonly used for temporarily relaxing the facial muscles which cause wrinkles. The Botox injection is used to block some nerve signals, usually the signals causing a reduction in muscle activity temporarily.

Is Botox Safe?

Botox injections are comparatively safe if used correctly. Usually patients do might complain of redness, bruising, bleeding, pain, or swelling but nothing beyond that. However, if this drug is not correctly used/injected; then Botox might show side-effects like:
