What is Polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD)?

PCOD is a health condition in which women develop enlarged ovaries and small follicular cysts (diameter 0.5-1.0 cm). This results in the collection of eggs inside the ovary that cannot be released from the body. PCOD is also referred to as PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome).
